beat by be@t – Comfort Dimensions 3D knits
A collaboration with Laura Silinska & Fernanda Rech: Looking at human well-being and the planet’s sustainability through fashion
COMFORT DIMENSIONS is about sumptuous knitwear, made from wool, Tencel™ and PLA, developed as a bio-based alternative to the more common 3D knitwear.
We accepted the challenge and developed the 3D knits without polyamide and/or polyester and with different properties, such as thermo comfort, breathability and great touch. Some materials popped as alternative compositions, but due the lack of monofilament alternatives our solution was to use filler yarns to give the desired volume to the knits.
The collaborative work resulted in 100% wool, cotton / Tencel™ Lyocell blend, and 100% NOOSA™ PLA knits, from 500 to 800 grams/sq. All of them very structured, voluminous and with a stunning look.
beat by be@t is an innovation program arises from the certainty that change is only possible through creativity and collaboration. It seeks sustainable and circular solutions to address the pressing and urgent challenges of an industry that contributes significantly to overconsumption and climate change.
With an open mind, creativity and collaborative philosophy we managed to achieve a result we are proud of – COMFORT DIMENSIONS won the sustainability innovation award from the beat by be@t project.
